Just had the most wonderful week with 4 of my grandchildren, they came last Friday night then on Saturday morning we sent their Dad home and the fun started, we have crafted, shopped till we dropped, ridden our bikes, visited the Iron Bridge Museum and visited another of their cousin, Ivy (13 months old) on Friday, they made masks which they decorated with foils, paint, feathers and glitter (Ruby put so much glitter on the mask that I had to pt a clear glaze on top to stop it going in her eyes!)  They have been using Julie- Ann Fleming's technique to make cards, this involves masking then shading a background with Distress inks, stamping a further texture background on top then trimming and putting on to a card, they adored that Julie - kept them quiet for hours x,  Also one of Eileen Godwin's techniques, stamping the inside of an embossing folder with distress inks, embossing then embellishing with treasure gold waxes, again, kept them entertained for ages x.  One of the down sides is that they are now old enough to use computers so I had my desktop, my notebook and my ipad all going at the same time, I only stood for a little of that then computers were banned for the last day!!
We were so lucky with the weather, Grandad raised all the saddles and handlebars on the bikes they have here (they have all grown so tall!!) so they could ride around, up and down the drive and round the house, they had a happy medium of fresh air and crafting on the days we were at home.

Sadly we drove them back to Clacton on Saturday, but at least I got to see my daughter :-), she did a BBQ on the Saturday afternoon, Michael's family all came as they live around London, it was pouring with rain but we had a really great time, next morning my son and his wife came over from Loughton to see us so I really couldn't have asked for more, having all my family around me!!

Then we came home, ate a box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts on the way and when we got  home! (comfort eating!!)   It is so quiet here today, I have started tidying up and washing but there is no enthusiasm there!  so I made a couple of twinchies - Yayy!  Just about to upload them on to the website.  I used alcohol ink backgrounds as an experiment to see what it would look like but I can see a pink theme coming out here - hmmmm!  Well will now try to upload them - bye xx

Another day in the life....

What a wonderful weekend - well Sunday anyway! My new Dyan Rievely stamps arrived and I planned how to do this in my journal, making the swimsuit and the shoes silver glitter! I got to Bee Crafty and Pauline had a set of Dyan's stamp that I hadn't got , (but now have :-)) To top it all Bev had received my skullduggery mask!! Wow what a feeling, I had such a wonderful day and was so pleased with the work I did, I used Black Gesso for the first time to very good effect! and was pleased with what I achieved. Pauline also let me use a background stamp she had, it made the stockings into fishnet with tears!!

Sunday

Well, here it is, Sunday and half way through my recovery time, my daughter went home to Clacton yesterday :-( but I guess the children and Michael needed her more than me!  It was lovely spending time with her though.

Had my first day out, went to Stratford Antiques and Interiors Centre, Barry buys his stamps there and I spend time with my friend Pat, I also bought a beautiful mirror, I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it, now I have to decide where to put it.

I decided to use my Silhouette Cameo yesterday so downloaded some more images and made two lovely cards, one for a 60th Wedding anniversary and the other a belated birthday card, I should have sent the card the week I went into hospital, in the rush I forgot it, but Di is a good friend and I'm sure she'll forgive me (hope so)

Thanks to BJ I have now turned off the Word verfication, so I am now going to attempt to upload my photos on to my blog, don't know if I'll be successful, guess I'll find out soon lol xx

Hi, just trying to sort out this blog,  I've been advised to take off word verification but have no idea how to do it 😡
I think I may have managed to add a 'followers' button but am not sure, if anyone is reading this could they let me know if it has worked?

Getting really nervous about going to have my stitch out tomorrow as it is about 3 inches long and I'm feeling sick already thinking about it!
Wish me luck peeps xx

Have done another twinchie today, I will have to restock soon!  Loving the bee and butterfly theme.

I love going to work but, having some time off whilst feeling well enough to craft is a real bonus, normally I can't get into my craft roon as, I'm either too tired or there is not enough time!

My daughter is coming from Clacton today to 'look after' me, I think we will have lots of fun and qua;lty time together and  blow the housework! ha ha!

First time

At home recovering from an operation so at last I have the time to create a blog.

I love all things crafty, scrapbooking, cardmaking, altered art and I have been missing out on so much as a lot of my friends have blogs and I cannot comment on them so I thought I would take the chance to get started.

Today I joined the Twinchies challenge, I have made one, taken ma photo, now - what on earth do I do................   Watch this space folks as I will try to upload it but who knows if I'll be successful or not.
